Pholiota Mushroom
Getting caught in the rain on dreary hike, while fending off clouds of mosquitoes and gnats would, in many circumstances, make one quite miserable. When the excessive rain has, however, nurtured a truly breathtaking assortment of mushrooms in all shapes and sizes, it's easy to become distracted from the misery. This young scaly pholiota stood out like a rainbow from it's hold on the side of a rotting hemlock log.
