The Huranga Festival in the Dauji temple in Baldev, India sees hundreds of men dousing women with orange-colored water. The women retaliate by stripping the men of their clothes and thrashing them with the wet fabric, all in good fun. Most photographers were on the roof of the temple, but I stayed in the temple grounds in the middle of the action. It was only a matter of time before the women started attacking me, and this was the close encounter I was looking for.
