Birders’ roost.
Local folks led me to this spot. I would not have known about it otherwise. From info they filled me in on, this structure was originally located east from where it is now. But for reasons that weren’t relayed to me, it was moved to this location. The purpose of the structure is to provide a convenient spot for birders to view the many raptors that frequent the area during the colder months. As you can see, the lake water level is high now due to all the rain we’ve been receiving here in N.C.
