Edit Photo Details Is there a doctor in the house?   #police_box
As has been described before this is one of a number of surviving police boxes dotted around the UK. Glasgow has quite a few and some of them have been given a new lease of life- selling hot coffee etc. They were originally used by the police as places to hold people who had been arrested and required transport to a station, this in the days when most police officers were on foot, somewhere to write up their notes or to call for help. (No mobile phones)Glasgow's were originally red till the 60's
