This is my first barred owl. She had just finished eating a snake. It added a bit of color to her beak. I Loved watching her over several weeks. Squirrels, poisonous voles, more snakes were on the menu.. Quite a variety of critters in the vicinity were at risk. I like how the tree opening to her nest has an owl shape to it. Her three young fledged and seemed to do well.Hope they return in the spring of 2019! It was a wonderful spring adventure.
