During a recent visit to Shanghai I was impressed by the near perfect balance of past and present. On the one hand you see informal recyclers; a plastic bottle uncle or a paper lady, and on the other you see the expanding impressive skyscrapers of Pudong. This is a great city to visually explore the theme of modernity and traditions.
