The first day of a three-day hike along the Pemigewasset Loop in New Hampshire's White Mountains. My friend stopped to take in the view - the last such view as wind and rain would soon move in - of the foliage in Franconia Notch down below. Winds would blow over 50 mph along the ridge line as we'd walk in the clouds the final two days.
