Although not a shattered or otherwise "broken" mirror, I feel that this mirror is broken in the sense that it is not showing what it is supposed to; the reflection connects with the surrounding landscape, making it surreal. It is almost as if you are looking through a mirror that is showing you the past or the future, one that you can walk straight into. The mirror is not therefore broken in reality but in the mind.
