My wife and I just spent 4 days hiking in and near the Mid Hudson Valley. Of all the falls we visited Kaaterskill Falls on Spruce Creek was my favorite view. The hike starts out with about a 200 foot rise of boulders and tree routs which nearly made me turn back. After that it leveled off and was an enjoyable stroll in the woods as we rose alongside the stream. It's 261 feet from the top of the upper cascade to the pool at the bottom of the second cascade.
