During an incredibly rainy weekend earlier this month I went on a hike with friends in Tofino, a small surfing town on the west side of Vancouver Island. The area is well known for it's wildlife such as bears, cougars, coastal wolves, and abundance of marine life. Some of it's smaller residents however, like this banana slug, thrive here also on the forest floors and are hard to miss. They are bright yellow with black spots and can be seen everywhere when you go out for a hike in the rain.
