One of the prominent customs and most awaited activity during Durga Puja is the dhunuchi naach. On Ashtami (eighth day of Navratri), this devotional dance is performed holding dhunuchi (an earthen pot filled with burning coconut husk and camphor) in front of Goddess Durga.
