This photo was taken in the city of Riace in the province of Reggio Calabria, Italy. It was the day of the parade organized as a sign of solidarity for Mimmo Lucano, mayor of Riace arrested on October 2 2018 for illegal aid. Riace had become an uninhabited country until in 1998 a boat arrived in the sea full of african people. Mimmo Lucano pledged to give a home to all those people, men, pregnant women, children, the houses now uninhabited have become a home for these families.
