Jidai Matsuri (Festival of Ages) is one of the most famous festivals in Kyoto. It's famous as a costume parade of historical figures and people dressed in costumes from the different eras of the 1,000 years when Kyoto was the capital of Japan. Here is one of the characters from the parade.
