Kingfisher with fish in its beak
Last week captured a kingfisher perching on a branch with a fish plucked from a nearby stream.
Kingfisher usually lives near bodies of water and catches their prey by diving. The birds pierced through the water in order to get their beaks around their prey. In order to be able to catch the fish the kingfisher must keep its head almost entirely motionless, letting the wings counterbalance its tail.
