In Bengali this species of Gecko is well known as Takshak a very good climber with a foot pad to support the 35 cm. body weight for prolonged time. Takshak posses a vertical pupil that works similar to a camera aperture i.e. opens wide in darker situation and pinhole opening during harsh daylight, as a result can hunt well in night and can distinguish colors at night too. This species are mainly found in Asia and prone to poaching both for preparing drugs and as a pet as well (cost: $15.95 pp).
