While I live in an environment that is overpopulated by squirrels, this is the first time I encounter a white one. Its unusual colour attracted a crowd of onlookers making him/her act uncharacteristically shy. I googled white squirrels and according to a blog a white squirrel with red eyes is an albino and that’s no big deal. With dark eyes it is a more rare sighting and is a genetic anomaly of the grey squirrel. Unfortunately, the white fur makes it easy to spot by predators.
