The Gurudongmar lake is one of the highest lakes in the world and is at an altitude of 18000 feet above sea level. The beautiful setting amidst vast open lands hides the fact that the location is extremely low on oxygen. We were lucky to get bright sunlight hitting us for a few minutes before we packed up and left.
