    Edit Photo Details A new reality   #hawaii #volcano #lava #kilauea #eruption #punastrong #stayclassypuna
I joined another couple who have decided to rebuild their lives inside the lava zone. Again access only via helicopter. Their house on the hill near the cell tower in the background where I stayed during the eruption was burned down by a brush fire caused by a lava channel overspill but a neighbour who owns the house you see in the middle of the image has let them stay there in her absence. Lava that progressed up the hill stopped just short of some of these properties but consumed others.
