The owner of the house I had been staying in for 3 weeks came back briefly during a lull in the eruption only to see the entire scene erupt once more. He watched as the lava consumed part of his property down below sitting in a garden chair to watch in numb resignation. As a full moon began to rise he took out his phone to photograph it and broadcast the scene on facebook live. The house eventually burned down due to a brush fire but they returned recently by helicopter to rebuild.
