I attended a workshop with Avian Behavior International near San Diego. One of the most uplifting experiences was when we accompanied their flighted macaws for a walk to the top of the hill nearby, watched the birds fly free and then return for treats. Being macaws this stimulated a bit of bickering over who got the best treat. The sun was low in the sky resulting in a light flare which I think added to the magic of the moment!
