The village of Assmannshausen, GR is on the opposite bank of the Rhine River from the Rheinstein Castle. Vineyards for the winery are shown on the slopes in the background. Growing grapevines down the fall line of the hill an unusual agricultural practice as it would seem to increase erosion of top soil.
