    Reported by:

White fairy terns are seabirds. They do not build a nest but rather find a knot in the tree to lay a single egg. Both parents take turns sitting on the egg. After the egg hatches they will both hunt for live baby fish to feed the chick. This chick was so curious about me. He was patiently waiting for his parents to return with some food. It's amazing he is left alone for hours at such a young age although his webbed feet help him to stay on the branch until they return.
