Comprised of pure Rhyolite, the mountains of Landmannalaugar are justifiably world famous and are undoubtedly one of the most dramatic landscape photography locations in the world. Due to a long cooling process this slow-formed crystallised igneous rock gleams red, yellow, orange and brown when it catches the light. However in the lead up to the winter season the colours become much more muted - not your quintessential Landmannalaugar shot.
