Landmannalaugar Lava Fields
Comprised of pure Rhyolite, the mountains of Landmannalaugar are justifiably world famous and are undoubtedly one of the most dramatic landscape photography locations in the world. Due to a long cooling process this slow-formed crystallised igneous rock gleams red, yellow, orange and brown when it catches the light.
However in the lead up to the winter season the colours become much more muted - not your quintessential Landmannalaugar shot.
