Bandipur National Park is well known for its abundant wildlife and it has managed to preserve the flora and fauna of the forest. Indian Bison or Gaur, as it is called, is a very strong and massively built wild animal, with body weight 500 to 1500 kgs.Males are about one-fourth larger and heavier than females.
