The metaphor hit me the morning after I photographed 20 acres of old, rusty cars. For three hours, I walked, crawled, climbed, bent over, and kneeled down to get photos of these old relics. When I had sore legs and a sore back the next morning, I realized that I too, like these old cars, have lost some mobility, flexibility, and functionality. And yes, I too am now a little old and weathered in appearance.
