    Some birds we come across all the time without really seeing them. I am not, during the natural course of my wanderings, a mourning dove fan. However, when you free your mind and really SEE them for what they are, there is a lot to like. The beautiful blue eye ring, the pattern of spots on their back, the subtle, parallel white edging of the tail feathers and the protective cream, buff, brown, and black color scheme... they are quite beautiful.
