Sending off a lantern along the banks of the Ping River at the Yi Peng festival in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The festival is celebrated annually throughout Thailand and is a way to let go of things in your past and to look forward to what the future brings. Thousands of lanterns were released on Thursday, November 22nd 2019, coincidentally falling on Thanksgiving. The festival coincides with the Loy Krathong celebration where a flower made from banana leaves is released down river.
