Space shuttle Enterprise's last flyover
This photo immortalizes a historic moment in NASA's history. In April of 2012, the Space shuttle Enterprise flew to New York atop a modified Boeing 747 jet. Before landing at New York's John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport, the piggybacking duo flew over the Statue of Liberty and the Hudson River past the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, where it was eventually placed on public display. Enterprise was built without engines for testing of the space shuttles.
