Edit Photo Details The girl who lights up candles
It takes 401 steps to reach Monastery of Agios Georgios tou Vounou (St. George of the Mountain), but the views from this fascinating site are absolutely rewarding. Surrounded by huge stones, this deserted monastery resembles a fortress and hosts a catacomb, among other things. My 6 year-old daughter was fascinated by the experience of lighting up a candle.
