Two drops of Aperol under the microscope. Actually the radiating aggregates of sugar crystals formed from it. Since I came across the marvelous micrographs of crystallized beverages taken by late Michael Davidson from Florida State University - my favorite image is his light blue-greeen vodka - I had wanted to try with drinks myself. So I decided to take pictures of italian drinks under the polarizing microscope: starting with Aperol and Bitter Campar,iI recently added Martini Rosso.
