The 2018 Golden Eagle Festival was a great cultural experience. Spent several days riding and flying across Mongolia meeting friendly Kazakhs, staying in gers, photographing the mountains and plains as well as the eagle hunters in various competitions. Learned how the eagles are captured, trained and the bond that exists as well as the emotion of releasing them to the wild after years of partnership.

    Story 1

From Your Shot photographer Sukanya De: β€œThe intimate portrait brings out the incredible bond that this friendly Kazakh shares with this majestic bird! Love the crisp clarity and intricate details of the plumage, from the intense eye contact and proud curve of that beak, to the affectionate way the trainer is looking at the bird!! Love your informative narrative that makes us aware of this fascinating tradition and how the people have sincerely kept the same alive in their heart."
