The mountain range of Hornocal is located in northern Argentina and reaches a maximum elevation of 4,761 m (15,620 ft). The best starting point to get to the viewpoint is the city of Humahuaca, which is already at an elevation of 3,012 m (9,882 ft). From there, a partially narrow gravel road leads about 25 km (15.5 mi) east to the viewpoint at 4,350 m (14,272 ft). Due to the fast ascent, there is often a slight dizziness and shortness of breath. Do not overexert yourself and take your time.
