Edit Photo Details Riding Through Lava Fields
In 2010 the Pacaya volcano in Guatemala erupted, killing several people and damaging much of the village at the base of the volcano. Among the houses destroyed was Naman’s (pictured). Now he and his family make a living by taking tourists up the volcano and across the lava fields, and they have been able to rebuild their home with the income this generates. Their feelings towards the volcano are therefore understandably very complex - the volcano gives and it takes away.
