Nappy and Happy
Black hair has been subject to discrimination for years. For 13 years i used harsh chemicals containing hydroxide, a chemical so strong, it can burn through metal. I did this to straighten my hair because it was not accepted or favoured by those around me. At the beginning of 2018, i cut off my hair and for the first time since i was 7 years old, i saw my hair in its true natural state and i have never been happier. My hair is what they call "nappy", and i wear it out with every day pride.
