The Medieval Festival in Perugia is historic and is a celebration of the year 1416 with 5 districts competing in the march through the ancient city of Perugia - they are judged by interpretation, historic relevance and set design. I captured three groups of contestants here - the girls in red dancing, the carrying frames with silk (intentionally torn) and the group with dogs framed by the others. The grand parade passes up through the historic city and ends at palace and takes hours.
