Winter in Mobile can often mean warm and very foggy evenings. The world becomes a very different place in the fog. It can both be beautiful and frightening, with heavy fog often leaving me feeling as if the edge of the world is just one step beyond where visibility ends. The shot frames a window onto my city terrace three stories up. I loved the way the window light was just enough to reveal the presence of a gardenia, but the bright glow of city lights on dense fog hides everything else.
