On my first road trip to Sedona over New Year's, the skies opened up and the Southwest was blanketed in 8 inches of snow, which provided an amazing contrast to Sedona's trademark red rock landscape. On New Year's Day, I decided to get up early to capture a frigid sunrise on Cathedral Rock, one of the most notable rock formations in the state. A lone cloud appeared directly over the rock as the sun rose and disappeared just as quickly as it came, but with just enough time to capture this shot!
