    Seattle, WA was built on a tidal mud flat that flooded at high tide. Combined with horses and carts churning up the dirt roads, this led to "chuckholes" so wide and so deep that a child once drowned in a Seattle street.To fix the problem, they built up the roads so you'd climb 10-32 foot ladders to
