I hadn't been to Isfahan since 1997, and hadn't seen the dried river bed of Zayande Rood. The river was carelessly rerouted to supply water to other cities and facilities, and as a result the entire river went dry. The ancient bridge was designed with water pressure in mind, and in its absence, the foundation of the bridge has started to crack over the years. People can now walk under the bridge where water used to flow through.
