It’s an incredibly powerful structure, the Parthenon, even with all the machines and metal aiding in its survival, but it’s the tree in this photo that always catches my eye, its leaves in contrast with the otherwise muted tones of the landscape, and the softness it adds as it stands in front of the hard limestone and marble in its shadow.
