This photo was taken on my second visit to photograph this subject. The twisted remains of a tree, growing out of the solid rock of a mountaintop. This testimony of the power of life in nature, the beauty of the form. It's 3 hours from where I live and the trek to stand next to a 70 foot sheer cliff, for this shot is breathtaking in more ways than one and worth it. Each time I see it still standing in this collective natural beauty, defying the odds of the natural elements, I'm feeling alive.
