"What is happening outside my burrow? Can I eat it? It feels cold on my beak... ohh, it sticks to my claws... it comes from above!" The very first winter for these burrowing owls is really something different. Many animals react astonished when they first encounter snow. I captured this one today, January 22nd 2019 at the nature park in Diessen, the Netherlands.
