Throughout the week I will be presenting images from the Mobile-Baldwin County Chess Tournament held recently for students. A young student captures an opponent's Bishop. Sponsored by Alabama Chess in Schools, "the innovative ground-breaking initiative promotes child development through chess in schools throughout Alabama. In elementary grades it involves teaching chess at least once a week during the regular class day plus an after-school program."
