This photo was taken on the Appalachian Trail in New York's Hudson Valley. My favorite thing about those muddy, wet spring hikes in the Northeastern United States, is to watching the progression of new life growing; one day the forest is drab and dark, and the next there are little green sprouts lining your path. For me, this is a representation of light coming through in the darkness, rebirth, and adapting to a constantly changing life in motion.
