    Reported by:

A rainy day in Northern California broke minutes before sunset, creating dramatic skies over the Pacific and an exceptional opportunity to capture this historic lighthouse. One of the first lighthouses along the California coast, Battery Point served as an active aid to navigation from 1856 until 1965. In 1964, prior to decommissioning, the lighthouse and its keepers survived a tsunami caused by the Good Friday earthquake in Alaska - the second most powerful quake recorded in world history.
