The early morning light peeks into the Routeburn North Branch as our adventure to lake Nerine begins. We had left the popular Routeburn track the evening before. As the sunlight slowly filtered into the valley we found ourselves straying further and further from the marked tracks into the wild alpine areas above. Mt Aspiring National Park, Te Waipounamu, Aotearoa.
