Once considered locally extinct, the smooth coated otter population has seen a revival in Singapore. These animals are loved by most who see them. From young to old alike, they almost never fail to smile on the faces of people. Unfortunately for these otters, the presence of humans ultimately serves as their biggest threat for survival. With pollution, drowning cases from illegal fishing nets/cages laid by humans, we must do better to protect these animals before they perish again.
