    Reported by:

This apex predator rules the ice of the Arctic in the remote regions of countries where it makes its home: Denmark (Greenland), Norway (Svalbard), Russia, the USA (Alaska) and Canada. They are listed as Vulnerable species due to climate change affecting the platform of sea ice critical to their hunting of seals. When the sea ice melts earlier the bears must retreat to land before eating sufficiently to create the large fat stores they need to survive.
