This is Zarina, a young girl who with her two friends was tending to a herd of goats in a place called Jamalpur on the Rae Bareli road to Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, India. While travelling I spotted them and with their help climbed on to the embankment and took this portrait. It was heartening to see these young girls helping out with family chores in their spare time while attending the local school.
