Airlifted high onto the mountains above the town of Grabouw during the GoudvertrouwFire we were tasked with containing a remote part of the fireline in order to stop it coming down off the mountain and threatening properties at a later stage. Job done, we then faced this long hard hike back to our pick up over hot and rugged ground, hoping we would make it back to the safer ground lower down before the sun set.
